This work explores the political and geopolitical uses of culinary representations, particularly in a context of asserting national identity. More specifically, this research focuses on Taiwan in the international sphere. For a country that has no recognized status in the international sphere and whose existence is precarious, the construction of a national narrative relies on different narrative strategies to testify to the island's singularity and contribute to its recognition as a country.
